Owned and operated by Linda Pike since 2001, the company has been active since its incorporation in 1990. Linda took over the business after her mentor, the late Helene Proudfoot, retired. Since then, she has established a permanent facility at her present location and expanded the business to include a dog daycare.

Linda is an accredited Volhard Instructor and an accredited helper with the German Shepherd Schutzhund Club of Canada. Whenever the opportunity arises, she continues to upgrade her knowledge and skills. Such dedication produces results. In 2005, Linda earned the national award for training Canada's Best Obedience Mastiff. Linda is a member of the Canadian Kennel Club and the Newfoundland Kennel Club.

Companion Dog Trainers Ltd. runs classes in Puppy Socialization, Obedience and Agility. Under certified Volhard Instructors Linda Pike and Jennie Murphy, clients learn to train their dogs using the Volhard Motivational Method. Its daycare service can accommodate 15 dogs a day. The facility includes indoor and outdoor areas. The yard, surrounded by a 6-foot high fence, is equipped with lots of agility obstacles, which the daycare dogs love almost as much as the kiddies' swimming pool and the short-lived tennis balls and tug toys.

The company sells collars, leashes and other necessities of dog ownership. Its shelves are also stocked with nutritional supplements that can help you provide the optimal diet for your dog.
