Companion
Dog
Trainers Ltd.
specializes in the Volhard Motivational Method of Obedience training.
We
teach you to train your dog by emphasizing praise for good
behaviour.
We also teach Agility and operate a daycare in the Goulds, a 10-12
minute
drive from downtown St. John's, Newfoundland. Companion carries a range
of products from nutritional supplements to collars.
Winter is
a hard time to get Fido out for good walks. Sidewalks are not plowed
and there is a lot of ice
everywhere you go. To help keep Fido from being bored, not to mention
adding on extra pounds due to lack of exercise, try these few things to
keep him active.
Dig out
those obedience homework
sheets and give Fido a little refresher course. Nothing like 20-30
minutes of basic obedience training each day to get the edge off your
dog.
Try a treat
ball. Your dog will
enjoy pushing the ball around the house to get the treats out. If you
feed kibble, use your dog's breakfast or supper in the ball so as not
to give them extra calories. If you feed raw, stuff a kong or beef bone
with their meal, freeze it, and then give to your dog. It will take a
while for them to lick out the food, thus tiring them out, giving you
peaceful evenings.
Regards,
Linda
